How do I clean ABS shutters?
Dust with a microfibre cloth or soft brush. For a deeper clean, wipe with warm water and mild soap. For marks, use a non-abrasive sponge. Avoid harsh solvents or abrasive cleaners as they can dull the surface of your shutters.
What are ABS shutters made from?
ABS waterproof shutters are made from ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene): a tough, moisture-resistant plastic.
Are ABS shutters fully waterproof?
They’re highly water-resistant and suitable for wet environments. In normal bathroom/kitchen use (steam, condensation, occasional splashes), they perform very well. Like any window covering, they shouldn’t be left with standing water trapped against them for long periods. A quick wipe is recommended.
Will ABS shutters crack or go brittle over time?
In normal indoor use, they’re very tough. Treat them like any shutter (don’t force panels/tilt rods) and they hold up well.
Are ABS shutters resistant to mould and mildew?
ABS itself doesn’t support mould growth; if your bathroom or kitchen is exceptionally humid then we recommend wiping heavy condensation off once in a while to keep them looking their best.
Do ABS shutters warp, swell, or peel?
ABS is dimensionally stable in damp conditions, so it won’t swell like MDF or some timber products. There’s also no paint layer required in the same way as wood, so peeling is far less of a concern.
